The SEAEXPLORER line of UUVs (unmanned underwater vehicles) offers powerful autonomous sensing and data collection capabilities, with extended endurances of up to eight weeks.

Utilizing variable-buoyancy propulsion with large ballasting volumes, the vehicles move silently up and down the water column, and can be equipped with a wide range of payloads for missions such as oceanographic data collection, rapid environmental assessment, acoustic monitoring and anti-submarine warfare.

SEAEXPLORER gliders are highly cost-effective and feature low logistical footprints, requiring no support vessels during the mission and can be easily deployed from a research vessel.

SEAEXPLORER X3 subsea glider
The SEAEXPLORER 1000 is the newest generation of our underwater glider platform, featuring significant improvements in power efficiency and payload management, as well as reduction in acoustic noise.

With an endurance of up to 110 days and the ability to carry a total payload of 8 kg or up to six sensors across wet and dry bays, it is ideal for a variety of applications, including:

  • Oceanography & Environmental Monitoring – collecting a variety of physical, chemical, and biological data with an array of sensors including CTD, dissolved oxygen, methane, fluorometry and more
  • Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) – our advanced AURIS payload allows the SEAEXPLORER to monitor, detect and characterize underwater noise and marine life, as well as to identify potential security threats
  • Rapid Environmental Assessment – by collecting data on phenomena such as bioluminescence, light penetration, sonar propagation, and water currents, the SEAEXPLORER can be used to support safe and effective naval operations

The SEAEXPLORER 200 has been specially designed for marine environment data collection at depths of 20 to 200 meters, and can be equipped with either a single- or dual-battery system to suit different endurance and range requirements.

The robust platform can be equipped with a variety of payloads, allowing it to undertake the same wide variety of civilian and defense missions as the SEAEXPLORER 1000.

The SEAEXPLORER 1000-M glider has been optimized for defense and security missions, with a range of enhanced features including acoustic stealth design, data cybersecurity, and interoperability with UAVs.

Applications include:

  • Underwater ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance)
  • Underwater & seabed warfare
  • Rapid Environmental Assessment (REA)
  • Search and recovery

Currently under development, the SEAEXPLORER 1000-M will be available by the end of 2025.

AUV & ROV Bouyancy
Our BMTI division provides a wide range of subsea buoyancy solutions for ROVs (remotely operated vehicles), AUVs (autonomous underwater vehicles), resident underwater vehicles and trenching machines.

We offer standard foam blocks and fully customized buoyancy modules manufactured in-house using our proprietary formulations and materials technology, with a full project management service to assist with every stage of the process. BMTI buoyancy solutions can be provided for depths from 1000 down to 12,000 meters, and are precision-machined and finished with our own protective PUR coatings, paints and high-strength metal inserts.

Black Bird UAV launcher system for submarines
The BLACK BIRD system equips deepwater submarines with a UAV-launching capability that allows the vessel to collect vital real-time data above the surface while remaining submerged for maximum covertness.

The system utilizes a compact quadcopter drone launched from a tubular underwater vehicle, as well as a communications antenna relay that floats on the surface to deliver data from the drone to the submarine.

The SEAEXPLORER glider is ideal for a wide range of coastal and offshore marine monitoring and deepsea exploration applications, enabling weeks or months of mission time without the need for a support vessel.

The glider moves through the water column with a sawtooth navigation profile and can be equipped with a variety of sensors for collecting data on different physical and biochemical parameters.

We can provide full turnkey services that encompass mission planning, glider deployment and recovery, 24/7 operation, real-time and post mission data processing, and final reports.

Passive Acoustic Monitoring

PAM passive acoustic monitoring service
We provide PAM (passive acoustic monitoring) as a service using our autonomous SEAEXPLORER platform equipped with a specialized payload that enables recording, in-situ detection and direction finding.

This service offers a rapidly deployable and easily movable acoustic barrier capability that provides detection, localization and tracking of potential threats.

SEAEXPLORER can reach target areas up to 1000 km away and remain deployed for up to 3 weeks.

Rapid Environmental Assessment

SEAEXPLORER can also be deployed for rapid environmental assessment (REA) missions, collecting data on bioluminescence, light penetration, sonar propagation, water currents and more.
