ARK Electronics has launched the ARK Flow MR, a seamless drop-in upgrade to the widely acclaimed ARK Flow.
Featuring advanced sensors for superior precision and performance, the ARK Flow MR has been tailored to meet the evolving needs of users, enabling unmanned aerial vehicles to fly in GPS-denied environments such as inside buildings, tunnels, etc.
The miniature module features an upgraded optical flow module and time-of-flight distance sensor, and extends the distance sensing range of the ARK Flow up to 50 meters while adding just 5 grams to the system weight.
Manufactured in the United States the ARK Flow MR is fully compliant with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), ensuring adherence to stringent supply chain, quality, and security standards.
Equipped with a Broadcom time-of-flight distance sensor and a PixArt optical flow sensor, the ARK Flow MR delivers precise and reliable distance measurements, enhancing its applicability across various scenarios.
The integration of the PixArt Imaging PAA3905 optical flow sensor provides exceptional motion detection and tracking capabilities, ensuring accurate navigation and control, whilst the TDK InvenSense IIM-42653, a state-of-the-art IMU, offers superior motion sensing and stability, contributing to the ARK Flow MR’s robust performance in dynamic environments.
The ARK Flow MR sensor operates over DroneCAN making it compatible with platforms running on both PX4 and Ardupilot. It also provides support for ROS2.
