UK Ministry of Defense Selects CAMCOPTER S-100 for Naval Operations
The UK ministry of Defence has awarded the Peregrine UAS contract to Schiebel and Thales, entrusting them with the provision of the CAMCOPTER S-100 Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) to enhance the operational capabilities of the Royal Navy.
Advanced Surveillance Capabilities
Equipped with a complex naval surveillance sensor suite, the S-100 is set to deliver extensive maritime operational support, ensuring the safety of Royal Navy vessels during missions.
High-Precision ISR systems
In collaboration with Thales, Schiebel will deploy the well-established S-100, which features an array of advanced Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) sensors. This includes the Thales I-Master radar, an Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) camera, and an Automatic Identification System (AIS). These technologies are integrated with CarteNav’s AIMS Mission System, providing robust all-weather detection and identification of unidentified targets.
Enhanced Operational Efficiency
Schiebel emphasizes that the S-100’s quick launch capabilities, extended mission endurance, and high-resolution sensors work in tandem to locate, track, and identify potential threats, thereby enhancing the safety of both the ship and its crew. The system can relay high-definition imagery and radar data in real-time to the ship’s Combat Management System (CMS), equipping the crew with critical details to make timely operational decisions.
Recognition of Excellence
“We are extremely honored that the CAMCOPTER S-100 has been selected by the UK Ministry of Defence for the esteemed Peregrine program,” stated Hans Georg schiebel, Chairman of the Schiebel Group. “The S-100 stands out as the ideal UAS for an increasing number of navies globally, having demonstrated its remarkable capabilities and reliability in various operational scenarios.”
