Sparrowhawk Radar
Portable radar system for BVLOS drone operations
Sparrowhawk is an advanced portable ground-based radar system that provides safe and effective DAA (detect and avoid) capabilities for BVLOS drone flights. Based on cutting-edge computer vision techniques, it provides the situational awareness required for an exponential increase in operational coverage, enabling up to 1400 square kilometers with a single radar.
Designed to be installed into a mid-sized vehicle, Sparrowhawk solves both the SWaP budget problems of airborne DAA radars and the costs associated with traditional ground-based equipment. The complete system is comprised of radar hardware, a Software-Defined Radio (SDR) dongle, an ADS-B antenna, and airspace management software. Sparrowhawk’s simple API also allows you to integrate its data output into your own ground control station or UTM (unmanned traffic management) system.
Providing comprehensive 360-degree coverage both during the day and at night and under a variety of weather conditions, Sparrowhawk can detect a variety of airspace obstacles and hazards, including:

Tasker allows an unlimited amount of users and equipment, and is continually updated with new features and improvements based on feedback and real-world data from our clients. All data is hosted on AWS servers located within Canada.

Our Services
Commercial Drone Services
Thanks to our Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOC), we are authorized to conduct complex SAIL IV operations nationwide for our clients. Services include:
Pipeline Monitoring – near-real-time monitoring and assessment to ensure maintenance of pipeline integrity, regulatory compliance, and safety. Capabilities include route planning, heat and leak detection, third-party encroachment monitoring, slumping and erosion assessment, and fugitive emissions monitoring.
Wide Area Mapping – aided by our Sparrowhawk Radar, we can conduct BVLOS aerial mapping flights that cover up to 450 square kilometers from a single launch location. Applications include mine and agricultural mapping, land and acquisition mapping, and construction progress monitoring.
Environmental Monitoring – we can equip our UAVs with a wide range of payloads to undertake cost-effective and efficient wildlife management and environmental monitoring missions, including animal movement tracking, methane leak monitoring, and analysis of soil erosion and changes in composition and density.
Asset Integrity Inspections – our specialized internal inspection UAV ensures safe and efficient coverage of hazardous or hard-to-reach areas without exposing personnel to danger.
Emergency Response – we support emergency response teams and first responders with 24-hour BVLOS surveillance and monitoring capabilities. Applications include situational awareness, spill response, and disaster assessment.
Military & Defense Services
With a proven track record as a Defence Prime ISR Contractor, we can provide the highest levels of drone-based intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and engage in Contractor Owned, Contractor Operated (COCO) missions anywhere in the world.
We provide ongoing support to the Canadian Department of National Defence including the Canadian Armed Forces, Defence Research and Development Canada, and the National Research Council. Our DND-vetted contracts, which include security clearances, can be utilized by any Canadian government customer whether for military or civil purposes.
