Capture Stunning 4K ProRes RAW Footage with the Ultimate Cinematography Drone!

Boxfish Research has announced that their next-generation cinematography drone, the Boxfish Luna, now allows professional underwater

Boxfish Research has unveiled its latest innovation in underwater cinematography: the Boxfish Luna. This state-of-the-art drone empowers professional videographers to record stunning full-frame 4K ProRes RAW video at 30 frames per second, substantially enhancing thier ability to capture breathtaking underwater visuals.

Equipped with the cutting-edge imaging technology of either a Sony A7SIII or Sony ⍺1* camera, the Boxfish Luna records in 10-bit or ProRes RAW formats, delivering vibrant colors and remarkable clarity in underwater settings. The recording process occurs at the surface, allowing for easy SSD swaps, which means filmmakers can enjoy virtually limitless recording time. the drone’s control console features a built-in 17” 4K display for real-time monitoring, enabling precise adjustments to shutter speed, aperture, zoom, focus, white balance, ISO, and exposure. The ability to record in ProRes RAW maximizes dynamic range, granting users enhanced creative freedom during post-production.

The Boxfish Luna expands the horizons for underwater videographers, allowing them to capture high-quality images at depths of up to 1000 meters. Unlike conventional camera housings that limit depth and mobility, this drone’s lightweight design—at just 27kg—ensures easy setup, deployment, and maneuverability. It boasts active stabilization, full six-degrees-of-freedom movement, and an impressive battery life of up to 15 hours per charge.

This innovative cinematography drone enables filmmakers to explore unique underwater locations that are frequently enough inaccessible to scuba divers due to depth constraints or confined spaces. The Boxfish Luna’s exceptional maneuverability and compact design allow for the capture of critical moments without disturbing marine life.

Key Features:

  • The boxfish Luna now supports full-frame 4K ProRes RAW video recording at 30 frames per second, providing filmmakers with unparalleled adaptability in post-production alongside console control.
  • A lightweight fiber-optic tether facilitates data transfer speeds of 10 gigabytes per second, allowing users to monitor 4K footage on the surface console with minimal latency.
  • With patented active stabilization and eight 3D-vectored thrusters, the drone achieves full six-degrees-of-freedom movement, enabling the capture of underwater footage akin to that of aerial drones.
