Innovative Partnership to Unveil Fully Autonomous Multi-role Vessel
Robosys Automation has joined forces with Lynx Power Catamarans to introduce a groundbreaking fully autonomous Lynx Multi-role Vessel (MRV).
Specifications and Capabilities of the Lynx MRV
This 11-meter vessel features a robust aluminum twin hull, providing a reliable and agile platform for various maritime operations, including surveillance, medical assistance, and patrolling.
Equipped with Robosys’ Voyager AI Vessel technology, the MRV can seamlessly transition between crewed, minimally crewed, optionally unmanned, and fully unmanned modes at the touch of a button. This system facilitates efficient autonomous operations from a remote operations center (ROC) or ground control station (GCS), weather stationed on land or deployed from a mothership.
Advanced Technology for Diverse Applications
Robosys Automation’s state-of-the-art technology offers a thorough autonomy solution, integrating artificial intelligence with decision-making aids. This enables the operation of fully autonomous unmanned surface vessels (USVs) ranging from 3 to 340 meters in length.
Tailored for the African port infrastructure, the Lynx MRV is ideal for sectors such as defense, coastguard services, firefighting, search and rescue (SAR), and fisheries. It can operate effectively in Seastate 3 conditions, achieving speeds of 30-35 knots. Additionally, this catamaran is designed for easy transport via air, road, and sea.
Robust Navigation and Safety Features
All systems developed by Robosys Automation utilize sophisticated autonomous navigation technology, ensuring platform and payload control across various vessel systems. With features like collision avoidance and system monitoring, Robosys provides a reliable full-stack maritime AI autonomy solution.
Expert Insights on the Collaboration
Peter Tinker from Lynx Power Catamarans remarked, “The unique advantages of robosys’ system, including proven autonomous capabilities of up to 45 knots, collision avoidance, anti-grounding features, and smart object detection, make the Voyager AI Vessel an excellent fit for the Lynx Power Catamaran.”
Nigel Lee, Chief Strategy Officer at Robosys Automation, added, “The Lynx Power Catamaran MRV is an exceptionally designed vessel that perfectly accommodates our Voyager AI Vessel clever navigation system.”
He further elaborated, “Beyond the unparalleled capabilities of the Voyager AI Vessel, its adaptability allows for retrofitting to nearly any vessel or workboat. This versatility promotes cost-effective, safer, and environmentally pleasant solutions for operators wishing to enhance their existing crafts with options for crewed, lean-crewed, optionally uncrewed, and fully uncrewed operations, tailored to specific needs.”
