D-2 CTD Sensors Displayed at Combined Naval Event 2025

D-2 Inc. exhibited its newest conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD) sensor solutions at Combined Naval Event 2025, held in Farnborough, United Kingdom, from May 20 to 22.

At the exhibition, D-2 introduced its CTD instruments tailored for use in underwater naval warfare. These CTD systems provide precise readings of ocean salinity, temperature, and pressure. Known for their compact design, low power demands, and fast, reliable performance, D-2’s CTD sensors are engineered to meet the demands of marine environments.

D-2 offers several variants, including the standard Ocean CTD, the Ultra Low Power CTD, and the widely used CT sensor. All of D-2’s closed-field cells are manufactured in the United States, can be quickly produced, and are easy to integrate with underwater platforms without impacting calibration. These features make them ideal for rapid deployment across unmanned systems.

The company also highlighted a recent achievement with its Ultra Low Power CTD, which consumes just 10 mA. This efficiency makes it well-suited for deployment on UUVs, USVs, profilers, and submarines. Despite its minimal power usage, the sensor retains high accuracy using a closed-field precision design.

PEAK Testing Kit

D-2 also introduced its PEAK Testing Kit during Combined Naval Event 2025. This system functions as a portable fuel laboratory, housed entirely within a rugged, military-grade case. Designed to certify fuel for use in U.S. military operations, the kit performs all required testing without being removed from its enclosure.

The PEAK Testing Kit allows operators to validate fuel quality in the field through automated, user-friendly testing procedures. It enables helicopter missions to reach the edge of operational range, refuel from verified sources, and return safely to the carrier—eliminating the risk of fuel contamination and aircraft loss.

I, Dean Fougere, Vice President of D-2 Inc., attended the event to provide information and respond to questions regarding the company’s advanced CTD sensor technologies.
