DeltaQuad Collaboration to Boost VTOL Surveillance Drone Production

DeltaQuad has entered into a partnership with VDL Groep to expand the production capacity of the DeltaQuad Evo surveillance drone.

The DeltaQuad Evo is an advanced surveillance drone that has already proven itself on the frontlines in Ukraine and is internationally recognised for its operational effectiveness.

Equipped with electric propulsion and autonomous navigation, the aircraft features a wingspan of nearly three metres. It is capable of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL), can remain airborne for up to eight hours and cover distances of up to 500 kilometres in a single flight. Its modular design allows the Evo to carry a variety of sensors, including high-resolution cameras for both day and night observation.

This expansion enables DeltaQuad to scale its production capacity flexibly, which is essential to meet the rising demand from both national and international defence partners. With this development, VDL and DeltaQuad are directly responding to the Dutch government’s call to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities for the defence industry.

The additional production lines will be located at VDL’s facility in Born, Limburg. This site is equipped with advanced assembly lines and is highly adaptable to the production of complex electromechanical systems. With this flexible setup, VDL can implement design changes on short cycles, ensuring that the Evo remains aligned with constantly evolving tactical requirements and emerging threats on the battlefield.

The collaboration supports the shared objectives of both companies to further strengthen and innovate within the Dutch defence sector, in line with the Dutch government’s request.
