DeTect, Inc. Unveils Advanced Air Surveillance Radar in Spain
DeTect, Inc., a leader in radar engineering, has recently installed its cutting-edge HARRIER S200d Air Surveillance Radar (ASR) at the Air Traffic Laboratory for Advanced Systems (ATLAS) located in Villacarillo, Spain. This facility is notable for being Europe’s inaugural dedicated testing and development range for drones and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).
Innovative Technology for Diverse Applications
The HARRIER ASR utilizes state-of-the-art solid-state Doppler radar technology, complemented by web-based data visualization tools. This design allows for a wide array of user applications too be managed together and in real-time.
Enhanced Surveillance Capabilities
Edward Zakrajsek, General manager of DeTect Global, Ltd. in London, emphasized the system’s advanced features: “By integrating various sensors, including radar, TCAS, and ADS-B receivers, the HARRIER system delivers unparalleled real-time surveillance for the detection and tracking of small Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS).”
Zakrajsek further noted, “the HARRIER radar system ensures complete surveillance from ground level up to altitudes of 6,000 meters, with detection ranges exceeding 48 kilometers. This versatility allows the system to serve as a multi-functional sensor, capable of simultaneous detection, alerting, and tracking of both aircraft and drones.”
