Vertical Technologies has unveiled its latest handheld DeltaQuad Controller designed specifically for its UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) lineup. this innovative controller employs cutting-edge device-to-Device (D2D) dialog technology alongside advanced bandwidth management, enabling an notable transmission range of up to 50 kilometers.
incorporating live video capabilities, the DeltaQuad Controller enhances not only the surveillance UAV models but also the mapping and inspection variants, providing real-time feeds from both the primary camera and the FPV (First Person View) nose camera.
One of the standout features of this new controller is its Automatic Object Following capability. This allows the UAV to autonomously track and follow a designated object captured by the camera. Currently available for the DeltaQuad Pro #VIEW surveillance model, this functionality enables the drone to follow various subjects, including vehicles, pedestrians, or even other UAVs. By simply tapping on an object of interest on the touch screen, the pilot can activate the following mode, allowing the DeltaQuad Pro to pursue the selected target until the pilot decides to deactivate it.
Equipped with VPN-secured mobile internet connectivity, the controller facilitates the transmission of telemetry data, high-definition video, and manual control inputs from the operator. It seamlessly switches between radio and mobile internet connections, ensuring redundancy, limitless range, and the ability to share video and control remotely for larger displays or command center integration.
The DeltaQuad Controller offers intuitive manual control for both fixed-wing and hover flight modes,enhancing precision during landings and enabling long-range direct control of the UAV. The integrated FPV camera system enhances situational awareness, while the bright avionics maintain stability and altitude when no control input is detected.
