Introducing Advanced Spherical Sapphire Lenses for Autonomous Vehicles
knight Optical has unveiled an innovative collection of spherical sapphire lenses tailored for demanding environments, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and various autonomous systems.
Exceptional Properties of Sapphire Crystal
Sapphire crystal (Al2O3) boasts remarkable light transmission capabilities, ranging from 150nm to approximately 5µm, making it an excellent choice for ultraviolet (UV), visible, and infrared (IR) applications. Its outstanding resistance to thermal, chemical, and physical wear, combined with its extraordinary mechanical strength and hardness, sets sapphire apart. Additionally, sapphire is chemically inert, showing resilience against many harsh processing conditions, including exposure to hydrofluoric acid.
Diverse Lens Options Available
Knight Optical provides a variety of sapphire lens configurations, including plano-convex, biconvex, and concave designs. These lenses can also be enhanced with antireflective coatings to optimize performance in UV and IR applications. The available grades of sapphire include Random, C-Cut, Z-Cut, and fluorescence-free options.
Specifications of the New Sapphire Lenses
The spherical sapphire lenses come with the following specifications:
