The Textron Systems Aerosonde® Mk. 4.7 Fixed-Wing Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) is engineered for remarkable performance across diverse operational settings, including both terrestrial and maritime environments. Its unique launch mechanism utilizes a hydraulic pneumatic system, while recovery is achieved through a net, making it ideal for deployment in confined spaces.
This UAS is powered by a robust heavy fuel engine that can utilize various fuels such as JP-5, JP-8, F44, Jet-A, or Jet-A1.It is capable of carrying multiple payloads—up to six—during a single mission, with an extensive selection of over 40 payload options, which include:
- Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) imaging systems
- Wide-area maritime surveillance
- Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Automatic Identification System (AIS)
- Electronic Warfare (EW) and Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) capabilities
- LiDAR technology
- Mobile Ad-hoc Networking (MANET) communication systems
