Introducing the VOXL 2: A Cutting-Edge Drone Autopilot
the VOXL 2 stands out as a compact,single-board drone autopilot, driven by the powerful Qualcomm QRB5165 processor. With a lightweight design of merely 16 grams, this flight controller and companion computer, approved under the Blue UAS Framework, boasts an impressive AI processing capability of up to 15 TOPS and supports 5G connectivity. The device is equipped with seven MIPI inputs, facilitating seamless integration of various cameras, including electro-optical (EO), thermal, time-of-flight (TOF), and computer vision (CV) cameras. Notably,it comes with built-in compatibility for FLIR Lepton and Boson thermal imaging cameras.
Advanced Software Capabilities
The VOXL Software Development Kit (SDK) offers a suite of open-source algorithms that are ready for immediate deployment. These include multi-camera visual inertial odometry (VIO) for navigation in environments lacking GPS signals, visual obstacle avoidance (VOA) to ensure safe operation in tight and cluttered spaces, and advanced 3D mapping and path planning functionalities for autonomous navigation in ever-changing surroundings.
