Enhancements in autopilot Technology for Unmanned Surface Vessels
Dynautics has introduced an innovative upgrade to its E-Boat autopilot module specifically designed for unmanned surface vessels (USVs). This new feature, known as hover functionality, empowers survey operators to temporarily halt data collection, enabling them to conduct essential tasks such as equipment inspections, data verification, or clearing any obstacles in the vicinity.
The E-boat module from Dynautics is tailored for electric-powered unmanned boats and is part of the advanced Spectre series of autopilots. This technology has been meticulously developed through extensive navigation experience, covering thousands of miles and accommodating a diverse range of vehicle types, ensuring dependable and precise control.
With the Dynautics E-Boat Survey Package Module (SPM), users can concentrate on gathering data, assured that their vessel is accurately following the pre-defined survey grid. The seamless integration of the survey grid with vehicle control not onyl accelerates the survey process but also reduces the physical strain on the operator and lowers overall costs, all while enhancing the quality of the collected data.
Henry Robinson, the CEO of Dynautics, stated: “The introduction of hover functionality allows users to take a moment to pause, knowing their vessel will maintain its position. It can counteract currents or winds as needed to stay in place or nearby until the operator is ready to resume. This represents a significant advancement in the management of unmanned electric vessels.”
