Elistair Launches Innovative Tethered Drone Station!

Elistair has released its newest and most advanced tethering station for commercial drones, the Safe-T 2.

Elistair Unveils the safe-T 2: A cutting-Edge Tethering Solution for Drones

Elistair has introduced its latest innovation in tethering technology for commercial drones, the Safe-T 2. This advanced platform enhances power efficiency, ensuring safe and continuous operations for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Key features include a 125-metre (400 feet) micro-tether, a robust 2.2 kW of continuous power, optional fiber optics, and a patented Dynamic Voltage Optimization (DVO) system that optimizes the power-to-weight ratio.

Expanding the Safe-T Product Line

The Safe-T 2 is the newest member of Elistair’s renowned Safe-T series, which has seen deployment in over 60 nations by various governmental bodies, industrial sectors, and security agencies. To date, more than 600 tethered stations have been utilized globally, assisting security forces in tasks such as monitoring large events, securing sites, and protecting assets.

Enhanced Interaction and Safety Features

This innovative tethered drone platform includes a secure Dual-Comms feature, offering both fiber optic and broadband over power line (BPL) options. This allows users to establish a redundant data link or choose the most suitable technology for their specific drone and payload requirements. Additionally, a patented braking system enables users to adjust the maximum tether length based on the safety zone needed, especially in urban or densely populated areas. The Safe-T 2 also integrates Elistair’s live flight management system, complemented by the T-monitor mobile app for enhanced flight control and safety.

Durability and Versatility for Challenging Environments

Designed to withstand harsh conditions, the IP54-rated Safe-T 2 features a rugged, weather-resistant construction. Its compact modular metallic framework, along with mounting plates and an optional software progress kit (SDK), ensures seamless integration into various vehicles and fixed installations. The system is versatile enough to be operated by a single individual. Interchangeable micro-tethers and bright adaptive winch control allow operators to easily adjust the station to optimize the tether’s weight and power range for different drone models.

Insights from Elistair’s Leadership

Timothée Penet, co-founder and Chief Technical Officer at Elistair, stated, “In developing the Safe-T 2, we collaborated closely with our users, who provided invaluable feedback. We reimagined the entire solution to create the ideal tethering system for critical security operations. With a maximum continuous power of 2.2 kW and peak power reaching 2.8 kW, the Safe-T 2 supports higher altitudes and heavier payloads, enabling security forces to cover larger areas with a single unit.”
