Embention, a developer of autopilots for UAVs, has partnered with Erium Aerospace, an emerging innovator in electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for urban air mobility (UAM).
This collaboration will see Embention’s advanced flight control technologies integrated into Erium’s flagship eVTOL platform, the Erium One, supporting its mission to redefine urban transportation with sustainable, intelligent, and autonomous aerial mobility solutions.
Erium Aerospace is developing next-generation eVTOL aircraft purpose-built for densely populated city environments. Designed with safety, sustainability, and efficiency at their core, Erium’s vehicles aim to mitigate road congestion and dramatically reduce urban transportation emissions by up to 95%. The Erium One—a piloted eVTOL with capacity for four passengers—offers a range of up to 160 kilometers, ideal for short-haul urban and suburban routes.
To realize its vision of scalable and reliable UAM, Erium is leveraging Embention’s Veronte Autopilot and related avionics systems. These systems bring full lifecycle support for autonomous flight, including precision navigation, real-time redundancy management, fail-operational architectures, and certification-ready compliance.
Embention’s autopilot solutions are engineered to meet the rigorous demands of the aerospace sector, supporting complex autonomous operations with compliance to key aviation standards including DO178C (software), DO254 (hardware), and DO160G (environmental conditions). This ensures Erium Aerospace’s aircraft can meet the safety and regulatory requirements critical for UAM certification and commercial deployment.
The Veronte ecosystem includes:
- Autopilot hardware and software optimized for redundant architectures.
- Mission planning and flight control systems for vertical take-off and landing.
- Sensor integration and real-time diagnostics to ensure operational safety.
- Compliance-ready design for streamlined certification.
This level of integration enables Erium to accelerate development timelines while maintaining the highest levels of reliability and performance.
Erium One is built from the ground up to harmonize with the urban landscape, combining vertical lift capabilities with efficient electric propulsion and quiet operation. Its modular design and advanced avionics allow it to adapt to a range of missions beyond passenger transit, including:
- Urban air taxi services
- Medical and emergency response
- Last-mile logistics and cargo delivery
- Government and security applications
The partnership with Embention ensures these aircraft not only meet their performance targets but also operate with a high degree of autonomy and fail-safe reliability in complex airspace environments.
