Introducing pingRID: A Game-Changer for drone Compliance
uAvionix has unveiled the pingRID, a compact and lightweight Remote ID Broadcast module designed specifically for drones. This innovative device allows operators to adhere to the FAA’s Remote ID regulations seamlessly.
Expertise in Aviation Technology
With a strong foundation in radio frequency technology and a proven track record in providing efficient avionics for both manned and unmanned aircraft,uAvionix ensures that the pingRID aligns with the FAA’s Part 89 Remote ID standards. This commitment enhances safety and compliance for drone operators during every flight.
Upcoming Regulatory Changes
The FAA’s Remote ID final rule will take effect on September 16, 2023, mandating that all drone pilots comply with Part 89 operating requirements. Most operators will need to utilize drones equipped with Standard Remote ID, a Remote ID Broadcast module like the pingRID, or operate within a Federally recognized identification Area (FRIA). It is advisable for operators to prepare in advance for this regulation.
Streamlined Integration for Operators
“The Remote ID regulation is crucial for the FAA’s initiative to safely incorporate uncrewed aircraft into the National Airspace System.uAvionix is proud to leverage its avionics expertise to deliver a solution that meets FAA standards without complicating the user experience,” stated Paul Beard, CEO of uAvionix and a distinguished member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. “Equipping your drone with a ‘license plate’ should be straightforward, and with pingRID, it’s as simple as charging, attaching, and flying.”
Ready to Fly Right Out of the Box
The pingRID comes pre-configured, allowing for immediate use. after linking the device’s unique identification number to the drone’s FAA registration, operators can easily attach the battery-operated module and get ready for takeoff.A user-pleasant set of LED indicators provides real-time updates on battery status, device readiness, and in-flight operations. Its ultra-compact and lightweight design ensures compatibility with most drones without compromising performance, and the device can be quickly recharged via USB-C.
