Blue Marble Geographics has unveiled version 24.1 of its Global mapper and Global Mapper Pro Software Advancement Kits (SDKs), now available for immediate use. This update introduces a range of new features and enhancements that align with the latest desktop application releases.
These sdks empower developers to integrate global Mapper’s capabilities into their own applications, enabling the creation of tailored toolbars and extensions for the newest iterations of Global Mapper.
The standard Global Mapper 24.1 SDK introduces a novel function, GM_FindLoadedLayer, which accepts a string input, searches for layers that match the specified description attribute, and returns the corresponding 32-bit handle of that layer.
In addition to the features found in the standard version, the Global Mapper Pro SDK offers advanced functionalities, such as the application of convolution filters to existing raster layers. this allows users to sharpen, blur, enhance, or detect edges effectively. Moreover, contour lines can now be generated directly from lidar data without the need for elevation grids.
“The latest release of the Global Mapper SDK significantly enhances its functionality with innovative tools,” stated Jeff Hatzel, Product Manager. “From advanced raster analysis using custom convolution filters to improvements in lidar workflows, the SDK is continually evolving to meet the diverse needs of its users.”
With the ability to leverage the engine behind Global Mapper in bespoke applications and tools,Blue Marble’s SDKs serve as an invaluable asset for organizations across the globe.
