Schiebel Secures Extended Contract with EMSA for S-100 UAS

Schiebel has successfully secured a multi-year service agreement for its CAMCOPTER® S-100 Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) with the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA).

Versatile Capabilities of the CAMCOPTER® S-100

The CAMCOPTER® S-100 unmanned helicopter is engineered too accommodate various payloads, with a maximum capacity of 50 kg. Its distinctive design and proven performance make it exceptionally suitable for maritime applications, allowing it to fly at low speeds and hover effectively.

Operational History and Geographic Reach

As its initial deployment in 2018, the S-100 has amassed over 1,780 days of operational service for EMSA, covering numerous European nations including Croatia, France, finland, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, Romania, Lithuania, Iceland, Germany, and Belgium.

Complete Maritime Surveillance and Compliance Monitoring

Whether stationed on land or aboard vessels, the S-100 is tasked with a variety of missions, including continuous maritime surveillance, search and rescue operations, oil spill detection, and monitoring sulfur emissions from ships to ensure adherence to International Maritime Association (IMO) regulations.

New Contract Details and Historical Context

This latest contract focuses on providing Remotely Piloted Aircraft services (RPAS) to assist EU member states in emission monitoring and uncrewed maritime surveillance initiatives. This marks the third consecutive contract awarded to Schiebel by EMSA. the initial agreement was signed in 2018, followed by a second in 2021. The current contract is set for a duration of up to four years, comprising two fixed years with an option for an additional two years.
