Exciting New Orders for Kraken’s Cutting-Edge Synthetic Aperture Sonar Systems!

Kraken Robotics secures $3 million orders for advanced Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS) systems, enhancing imaging capabilities on unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) worldwide

New Contracts for Kraken's Advanced Synthetic aperture Sonar Systems

Kraken Robotics Secures New Contracts for Advanced Sonar Technology

Kraken robotics, a frontrunner in underwater sensing innovations, has announced the acquisition of new contracts for its Synthetic Aperture Sonar (SAS) systems, totaling over $3 million.

Expanding Global Demand for Advanced Sonar Solutions

These recent orders highlight the increasing dependence on advanced sonar technologies to bolster the functionality of uncrewed underwater vehicles (UUVs) across various regions, including Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America. As the utilization of unmanned maritime systems grows in sectors such as research, defense, and commercial ventures, Kraken’s SAS technology is gaining recognition as a crucial tool for accurate underwater imaging and mapping.

Collaboration with Academic Institutions

One notable client is the Roger F. Wicker Center for Ocean Enterprise at the University of Southern Mississippi. The center intends to enhance its fleet of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) with Kraken’s SAS technology to further their research, development, testing, and evaluation initiatives.

Leadership Insights on market Trends

Greg Reid, President and CEO of kraken Robotics, remarked, “The demand for our synthetic aperture sonar in uncrewed systems remains robust, particularly for small-class UUVs. Kraken SAS empowers our clients to significantly enhance their uncrewed platforms, offering a broader coverage area with consistent high resolution, which allows for quicker and more precise mission completions.”

Innovative Features of kraken’s SAS Technology

Kraken’s Synthetic aperture Sonar distinguishes itself by merging high-resolution imaging with comprehensive bathymetric mapping within a single, cohesive system. Users can choose between processing options of 3cm x 3cm or 2cm x 2cm resolution, with operational capabilities extending up to 200 meters on each side. Its modular and versatile design facilitates seamless integration on UUVs of varying sizes, capable of operating at depths ranging from 300 to 6,000 meters. This adaptability ensures that Kraken SAS can meet the diverse mission needs of contemporary unmanned underwater platforms.
