Gladiator Technologies Unveils Cutting-Edge High-Performance MEMs AHRS!

Gladiator Technologies released the LandMark™ 50 Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS).

introducing the LandMark™ 50: A Leap Forward in AHRS Technology

Gladiator Technologies has unveiled the LandMark™ 50 Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS), a importent advancement in their line of AHRS products. Building on the legacy of the LandMark™ series, which includes the LandMark™ 10, 20, 30, and 40 models, the LandMark™ 50 offers enhanced performance thru the integration of cutting-edge MEMS gyroscopes and accelerometers.

Key Features and Improvements

The LandMark™ 50 is designed to be fully compatible with the established LandMark™ 30 AHRS, ensuring a seamless transition for users. This new model employs only gyroscopes and accelerometers to deliver precise calculations of pitch and roll angles. Additionally, it incorporates a triaxial magnetometer, calibrated for both hard and soft iron effects, to accurately determine heading, along with an internal barometric pressure sensor. The system’s software automatically corrects for turning errors when provided with an external velocity input, whether analog or digital.

All models in the Gladiator AHRS lineup utilize a standardized messaging protocol, promoting a “common cockpit” experience. This allows users to select the AHRS that best fits their needs in terms of performance, size, weight, and cost without the need for extensive software modifications. The landmark™ 50 is engineered with robust environmental sealing for electromagnetic interference (EMI) protection and supports an RS485 data rate of 100Hz, with an internal sampling rate of 4 KHz. It boasts a variety of advanced performance specifications:

  • Pitch & Roll Accuracy: ±0.1° typical
  • Heading Accuracy: ±0.5° typical
  • Input Voltage Range: +6V to +36V
  • Gyro Noise: 0.001°/sec/√Hz (0.042°/√Hour)
  • Accelerometer Noise: 0.025mg/√Hz
  • In-Run Gyro Bias: 1°/hour 1 σ
  • Altitude Accuracy: ±3 meters typical
  • Comprehensive Temperature Compensation for Bias and Scale Factor
  • Misalignment: 1mrad and g-Sensitivity <0.002°/sec/g 1σ
  • External Synchronization Input (1 kHz or 1pps)
  • Advanced Bandwidth Filtering Capabilities
  • Export Classification: U.S. Commerce ECCN7A994

Looking Ahead

Mark Chamberlain, CEO of Gladiator Technologies, remarked, “with the launch of the LandMark™ 50 AHRS, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of MEMS inertial technology. we have exciting new inertial systems on the horizon that will further enhance our offerings.”
