Gladiator Technologies Unveils Cutting-Edge Inertial Sensors for the Future

Gladiator Technologies has launched its new line of upgraded low noise, high speed MEMS inertial sensors.

Introducing the Enhanced SX2 MEMS Inertial Sensors by Gladiator Technologies

Gladiator Technologies has unveiled its latest series of advanced low-noise, high-speed MEMS inertial sensors, known as the SX2 product line. This new range boasts significant performance enhancements, featuring a bias stability of 0.075°/s across varying temperatures,an angle random walk (ARW) as low as 0.0018˚/s/√Hz, and an extraordinary bandwidth of 600 Hz. These sensors are perfectly suited for a wide array of applications in both commercial and defense sectors, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs),unmanned ground vehicles (ugvs),and robotics.

Cutting-Edge VELOX Processing Technology

Each sensor in the SX2 lineup is powered by Gladiator Technologies’ innovative VELOX processing technology. This advanced system is engineered to deliver high-speed filtered outputs while maintaining optimal performance of the gyroscope and accelerometer sensors. With VELOX, the sensors can transmit data at rates of up to 10 kHz, featuring a digital message delay of under 100µs.

Product Range and Specifications

The SX2 upgrade encompasses several Gladiator products, including the G300D Triaxial Gyroscope, the LandMark 005 IMU, and the LandMark 007 and LandMark 007X IMUs, all tailored for high-dynamic applications. Each of these products shares core performance characteristics while offering distinct options, with gyroscope rates reaching up to 2000˚/s and accelerometer ranges extending to 200g.

Expert insights on the SX2 Line

Eric Yates, Vice President of Business Development at Gladiator Technologies, expressed enthusiasm about the new product line: “The SX2 series builds upon the achievements of our previous SX generation, which has been successfully qualified and integrated into various defense and commercial applications. We are excited to provide performance levels that were once exclusive to larger inertial systems, all within products that are smaller then 1 cubic inch. This advancement enhances our technical capabilities while preserving the size, weight, power, and cost (swap-C) advantages of our low-noise MEMS sensors.”

Lee dunbar, Chief Software Architect at Gladiator, added: “The SX2 product line is a culmination of our continuous advancement initiatives over the past three years. With a 35% enhancement in ARW performance and expanded VELOX functionalities, we have significantly minimized digital message delays through customizable baud rates and bandwidth options. this further solidifies Gladiator’s inertial sensors as the leading MEMS choice for precision stabilization applications.”
