H3 Dynamics has partnered with PJBumi Technologies, a subsidiary of PJBumi Berhad, for the production and commercialization of a new class of hydrogen-electric UAS manufactured in Malaysia, incorporating technology designed in France.

The partnership was formalized at the 2025 Paris Air Show.

The two companies will collaborate to scale production of a hydrogen-electric fixed-wing UAV, combining PJBumi’s patented hydrogen storage technology, which allows hydrogen to be stored in powder form, with H3 Dynamics’ ultra-light, miniaturized fuel cells. This combination is expected to enable small cargo UAVs to operate over long distances on electric power, with potential applications in emergency deliveries across Malaysia and Indonesia.

The hydrogen fuel cell technology developed by H3 Dynamics and the new hydrogen storage solution from PJBumi Technologies are intended to provide a longer-range electric power alternative to conventional UAS batteries. Target applications include aerial delivery of urgent medical supplies to rural areas, support for maritime search and rescue operations, and large-scale agricultural surveys.

Taras Wankewycz, CEO of H3 Dynamics, stated, “This agreement marks a new milestone in our commitment to pioneering advanced hydrogen solutions for aerospace markets. By collaborating with PJBumi Technologies, we aim to bring our innovations into an increasing number of use cases in the next years. PJBumi Technologies is equally enthusiastic about the partnership, and looking forward to contributing its new powder-based hydrogen storage technology.”

Izmir Yamin, Head of Technology of PJBumi Technologies, added, “Together, we are not just innovating across borders, we are setting new performance thresholds for electric UAS.”

This initiative aligns with the recent announcement by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), which launched a pilot project to deliver medicines by drone. The project is intended to benefit communities in remote areas.
