Introducing the LANTERN: A Cutting-Edge Tethered UAS
The LANTERN represents a state-of-the-art tethered Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) engineered for flawless integration with various mobile platforms, including Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs), uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs), and trucks. This innovative system boasts high-precision auto-follow capabilities and a sophisticated tether management system that actively maintains tension, minimizing drag and the risk of entanglement, while ensuring seamless operation during movement.
Robust Design for extreme Conditions
Encased in a rugged aluminum housing that meets MIL-STD-810H standards, the LANTERN is built to endure harsh environments. It can withstand vibrations, forces exceeding 30g, gunfire, and indirect shell explosions, making it suitable for all weather conditions, including rain, ice, snow, sand, and dust. The system is compatible with any single-phase 240VAC 4kW generator, facilitating easy power supply from existing field equipment, thus streamlining logistics. additionally, a backup battery allows the LANTERN to perform untethered reconnaissance missions for up to five minutes.
Versatile Applications and Payload Options
The adaptable LANTERN UAS excels in delivering stabilized line-of-sight communications and sensor support. It can be outfitted with various payloads tailored to meet specific mission requirements. Standard equipment includes the Trillium HD40 EO/IR camera and the Silvus StreamCaster 4200 tactical radio, enhancing its operational capabilities.
