TDK Corporation has broadened its Tronics AXO300 accelerometer series with the introduction of two innovative models: the AXO301, a low-noise, high-resolution ±1 g accelerometer designed for precise acceleration and deceleration measurements in railway systems and inclination control in industrial settings, and the AXO305, a ±5 g accelerometer optimized for navigation, positioning, and motion control in both manned and unmanned land and marine applications.
Featuring a cutting-edge closed-loop design, the AXO300 accelerometers ensure extraordinary linearity and stability, even in high-vibration environments. They boast a one-year composite bias repeatability of 1 mg and a composite scale factor repeatability of 600 ppm.
AXO301 Overview
The AXO301 is a high-resolution, low-noise, closed-loop digital MEMS accelerometer with a ±1 g input range, providing a performance-equivalent, compact, and cost-effective alternative to conventional force balance inclinometers and servo-accelerometers.

Compact and Resilient Accelerometers for Vibrant Environments
The closed-loop design of the Tronics AXO300 series ensures high resolution and robust vibration rejection. These accelerometers and inclinometers are encased in a compact, hermetic ceramic J-lead package, ensuring longevity and compliance with stringent thermal cycling requirements for critical applications.
They incorporate fully hard-coded electronics with a 24-bit digital SPI interface, facilitating quick integration into standalone sensor modules, INS, IMU, and Attitude and Heading Reference Systems (AHRS). A built-in self-test feature allows for initial verification of sensor integrity and ongoing functionality checks during operation.
Cost-Effective,Low-SWaP High-Performance accelerometers
Due to their shared sensor architecture, compact design, and low power consumption, the Tronics AXO301,AXO305,and AXO315 accelerometers provide a digital, economical, and low-SWaP alternative to larger, pricier, and power-hungry analog solutions like tactical-grade quartz accelerometers.
The AXO300 accelerometers are ideally paired with high-performance Tronics GYPRO digital rate gyros, which share the same SMD J-lead ceramic package (12 x 12 x 5 mm) and digital interface, allowing for cost-effective integration, assembly, and reliability on PCBs, even in rapidly changing temperature conditions.
The AXO301 and AXO305 models are currently available for sampling and customer evaluations, either directly from Tronics or through specialized distributors like Texim.Quick evaluations can also be conducted using an Arduino-based evaluation kit that includes built-in testing functionalities such as output reading, recording, recalibration, and digital self-tests.
