Deep Trekker has unveiled the REVOLUTION NAV, an innovative ROV (remotely operated vehicle) package designed to enhance navigation and stabilization, along with semi-autonomous functionalities. This cutting-edge underwater robotic system is notably suited for demanding sectors such as aquaculture, energy, shipping, defense, infrastructure, and search and rescue operations.
The REVOLUTION NAV package features real-time location tracking on Google Maps, enabling users to visualize the ROV’s path and mark points of interest for future reference. Its advanced stabilization capabilities empower operators to maintain position against currents, automatically adjust altitude, and navigate their vehicle with precision through diverse aquatic environments.
At the heart of the ROV’s navigation system is Deep Trekker’s BRIDGE technology, which integrates sensor fusion with Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) and Ultra-Short Baseline (USBL) systems. This combination utilizes sonar beacons for accurate positioning.A GPS receiver embedded in the Deep Trekker BRIDGE Controller facilitates the correlation of data, providing real-time latitude and longitude information. The DVL functionality allows pilots to effectively gauge their velocity in relation to the seafloor, simplifying navigation during intricate operations.
The REVOLUTION NAV excels in challenging conditions, such as murky waters or strong currents, making it ideal for missions that demand precise navigation and location tracking. As an example, search and recovery teams can efficiently monitor and document areas they have already searched, enhancing their operational effectiveness.
Sam macdonald, President of Deep Trekker, expressed enthusiasm about the launch: “We are excited to introduce the REVOLUTION NAV. This advanced package enables users to pinpoint their location in real time, facilitating the execution of more complex missions by ROV pilots.”
“By leveraging our BRIDGE technology and sensor fusion, the REVOLUTION NAV offers capabilities such as station keeping, location tracking, and intelligent navigation, all while delivering real-time location data. Our commitment to continuous innovation drives us to enhance our offerings, paving the way for greater autonomy in underwater operations.”
