Introducing the New XMC Radar Interface Card: Engineered for Rugged, Embedded Applications!

Cambridge Pixel’s new HPx-450 is an enhanced-performance XMC dual-stream radar acquisition card designed for use with VME, VPX and Compact PCI processor cards

Cambridge Pixel has unveiled the HPx-450, an advanced XMC dual-stream radar acquisition card engineered to deliver exceptional adaptability for radar data collection.

Utilizing the XMC Switched Mezzanine architecture, this card offers the high performance essential for embedded systems. It is available in both commercial and extended temperature versions, making it suitable for integration with VME, VPX, and Compact PCI processor cards.

The HPx-450 features a diverse array of interfacing options that accommodate various radar signal types, including single-ended, differential, open-collector, opto-isolated, and programmable thresholds. This versatility allows for seamless connections to standard trigger, azimuth, and video signals. Additionally,a PCI Express x4 interface enables data transfer rates exceeding 500 MB/sec,facilitating the sampling and capture of high-resolution radar data from multiple channels.

This innovative hardware is fully compatible with Cambridge Pixel’s suite of radar processing, target tracking, network distribution, and visualization software. For tailored solutions, a board support library with an SDK is available, along with the optional SPx Progress Library for radar processing and display functionalities.

The HPx-450 is the latest addition to Cambridge Pixel’s radar interface product line, which supports radar acquisition across various form factors, from desktop PCI Express to VME processors, including standalone radar-to-network converters. Notably, the HPx-450 maintains compatibility with the previous HPx-250 PMC card.

David Johnson, Managing Director of Cambridge Pixel, remarked: “The introduction of the HPx-450 enhances our radar interfacing product lineup, aligning with the latest XMC mezzanine standard. This is notably beneficial for demanding military applications utilizing VME, VPX, or Compact PCI form factors, where the robustness of the 6U form factor is crucial.”
