Join Forces to Deliver TerraStar-X Enterprise Corrections Across Japan!

GNSS corrections will provide lane-level accuracy and instant convergence for automotive and consumer market applications

hexagon and hitachi Zosen Join Forces to Launch TerraStar-X Enterprise in japan

Hexagon’s Autonomy & Positioning division has partnered with Hitachi Zosen Corporation to introduce the TerraStar-X Enterprise correction service to the Japanese market.

Hitachi Zosen’s Role in GNSS

As a prominent player in the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) sector, Hitachi Zosen oversees a comprehensive network of 1,300 reference stations managed by the Geospatial Data Authority of japan (GSI). Its subsidiary, Nippon GPS Data Service (NGDS), will supply Hexagon with essential GNSS data sourced from this extensive network.

Enhanced Accuracy for Automotive Applications

This collaboration enables Hexagon to deliver superior redundancy and precision through the TerraStar-X Enterprise GNSS correction service, which is crucial for automotive technologies. Currently, the service is undergoing testing in the tokyo region, with plans for a nationwide rollout.

Global Testbeds and Local Impact

Hexagon has established operational testbeds for TerraStar-X Enterprise across North America, Europe, and china, achieving reliable lane-level accuracy in under a minute. The introduction of a testbed in Japan will allow vehicle manufacturers and tech developers to standardize their correction service solutions across different markets.

Statements from Leadership

“Our partnership with Hitachi Zosen and NGDS presents a important prospect to broaden our service capabilities and enhance access to TerraStar-X Enterprise for our automotive and consumer clients in key markets,” stated Sara Masterson,Director of Positioning Services at Hexagon’s Autonomy & Positioning division. “The Japan testbed is now available for technology partners eager to leverage the high performance of TerraStar-X in advanced driver assistance systems, mobile applications, micromobility solutions, or safety-critical environments.”

“We are excited to collaborate with Hexagon to introduce TerraStar-X Enterprise in Japan,” remarked Takeshi Nakamura, Associate Executive Officer of the electronic control business unit at Hitachi Zosen and President of NGDS. “Our local expertise, combined with Hexagon’s extensive experience in delivering global corrections, creates a powerful partnership.”

Fast Convergence and Functional Safety

By leveraging data generated from GSI network observations, Hexagon’s TerraStar-X Enterprise will facilitate rapid convergence to lane-level accuracy, supporting large-scale initiatives with stringent functional safety requirements in Japan.
