Lynred Boosts Infrared Expertise by Acquiring SWIR Innovator NIT!

The acquisition of New Imaging Technologies strengthens Lynred's infrared sensor portfolio with large format shortwave infrared (SWIR) sensors, broadening the company's offering for aerospace, defense, and machine vision markets

Lynred Enhances Infrared Technology with Acquisition of New imaging Technologies

Lynred Strengthens Infrared Solutions Through New Acquisition

Lynred, a prominent player in the infrared sensor market, has successfully acquired New Imaging Technologies (NIT), a Paris-based company specializing in shortwave infrared (SWIR) imaging sensors and modules.

This strategic acquisition significantly bolsters Lynred’s offerings in SWIR technology, which is becoming increasingly essential for applications in unmanned systems, aerospace, and defense. The proclamation aligns with Lynred’s presence at major industry events, including Vision Stuttgart (October 8-10) and AUSA (October 14-16).

Innovative SWIR Solutions from New Imaging Technologies

With the integration of New Imaging Technologies, Lynred now includes SWIR HD1080p arrays and modules in it’s product lineup. These advanced SWIR solutions are tailored for machine vision, laser detection, and space exploration, all of which are crucial for both defense and unmanned applications.

notable Features of the New Products:

  • High-definition large array SWIR sensors
  • Compact pixel pitch (8μm) for enhanced resolution
  • Extensive dynamic range capabilities
  • Versatile applications in AI, deep learning, and multispectral imaging

NIT’s SWIR HD1080p arrays stand out as the only such products from a European manufacturer, offering extraordinary image quality with small pixel sizes. This innovation is vital for sectors that require high-resolution SWIR imaging, especially in unmanned systems where accurate detection and vision are paramount.

“The acquisition of NIT serves as a catalyst for growth. We aim to accelerate our time to market and capitalize on synergies to provide cutting-edge SWIR products. The global demand for SWIR infrared imaging in machine vision and defense applications, including laser detection and new space initiatives, is rapidly expanding,” stated Hervé Bouaziz, executive president at Lynred.

“NIT contributes the agility of a nimble, innovative firm, along with a diverse product range that meets the needs of our extensive customer base. By combining our complementary industrial supply chains and technical expertise, we can offer highly competitive SWIR imaging sensors and modules,” he added.

this acquisition is part of Lynred’s larger commitment to advancing infrared technologies, which includes their ongoing Campus project aimed at doubling production capacity. The innovative capabilities brought by NIT will further support Lynred’s goal of maintaining its leadership in infrared sensors across both commercial and sovereign sectors, particularly in unmanned and defense industries.

Visitors to Vision Stuttgart and AUSA will have the possibility to explore Lynred and NIT’s latest advancements in infrared sensor technology at Booth #8015, showcasing the future of imaging solutions.
