MostaTech to Introduce cutting-Edge Fiber Optic Gyroscopes and IMUs at IEEE INERTIAL 2025
MostaTech is poised to present its latest innovations in Fiber Optic Gyroscopes (FOGs) and FOG-based Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) at the upcoming IEEE INERTIAL 2025 conference, showcasing meaningful advancements in compact and high-performance inertial sensing technologies.
introducing the G321: A Compact Powerhouse
Among the highlights will be the G321, a state-of-the-art compact 3-axis fiber optic gyro that boasts rapid data output capabilities. This model is complemented by the enhanced shock-resistant FOG VG2103S-3000.
specifications of the G321M
The G321M is engineered to fulfill stringent size and performance criteria for inertial sensors. Measuring 53 x 53 x 36 mm,it delivers an impressive data output rate of 8kHz. This gyro integrates three single-axis FOGs along with a fully integrated three-channel ADC board featuring an RS422 interface. Notably, the G321M excels in low noise performance, achieving an Angular Random Walk (ARW) of 0.025°/√h and a bias stability of 1°/h.
Robustness of the VG2103S-3000
The VG2103S-3000 represents an upgraded fiber optic gyroscope capable of enduring shocks of up to 3000g. It maintains low noise performance with an ARW of 0.03°/√h and a bias stability of 1°/h, while also withstanding vibrations of up to 18g. The gyroscope is housed in a lightweight aluminum alloy casing, featuring four flanges for secure installation.
Compact Design of the VG221
Another notable model is the VG221 fiber optic gyroscope, which is both compact and lightweight, measuring ∅33x12mm and weighing a mere 15 grams. With a power consumption of only 0.3W, it is designed for energy efficiency, adhering to industry standards for size, weight, and power (SWaP). This model also boasts low noise performance, with an ARW of 0.05°/√h and a bias stability of 1°/h.
SWaP-Optimized Inertial Measurement Units
MostaTech’s inertial measurement units are designed to combine the smallest fiber optic gyros with MEMS accelerometers. The U121D and U123D models both deliver low noise performance, featuring an ARW of 0.05°/√h and a bias stability of 1°/h.Their accelerometers provide a 10g range, 0.2mg bias stability, and a bandwidth of 250 Hz. Remarkably, both FOG IMUs consume only 1.5W of power and utilize an RS422 interface for data transmission.
Specifications of U121D and U123D
The U121D measures 63x56mm and weighs 180 grams, equipped with internal magnetic shielding that achieves a high magnetic immunity of 0.3°/h/Gauss. conversely, the U123D features a cylindrical design, measuring ∅40 x 90mm and weighing 150 grams. It offers enhanced magnetic shielding with two levels of immunity: 0.3°/h/Gauss and 0.01°/h/Gauss, ensuring reliable performance even in environments with intense magnetic fields.
Applications of MostaTech’s Inertial Sensors
MostaTech’s inertial sensors are designed as low-SWaP, non-ITAR solutions, making them ideal for applications where space is limited. They are notably suitable for inertial navigation systems (INSs) in various platforms, including uavs, UUVs, USVs, ROVs, and for gimbal and camera stabilization.
