Product Spotlight: XC-ESC’s UF160 v2 ESC for Heavy-Lift UAV Systems

The UF160 v2 electronic speed controller (ESC) from XC-ESC is ideal for heavy-lift unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), featuring a stable and advanced control algorithm that enhances flight performance and supports mission execution.

The technology combines intelligence with power through its specialized software, delivering strong performance alongside its practical design and reliable quality.

The UF160 v2 ESC supports 48–96S LiPo batteries with a continuous 160A output. It operates from -25°C to 60°C and features a built-in 5V/200mA BEC, with IPX4 protection and a durable 1480g build (232 × 121 × 68.8 mm).

The system includes a motor control algorithm compatible with mainstream motors, eliminating tedious timing adjustments and calibration issues. The ESC offers a fast setup, accelerating from standby to full speed in 0.6 seconds.

The UF160 v2 supports online firmware updates via CAN bus, with a built-in BEC to accurately convert and output stable voltage to receivers and servos, keeping equipment in optimal condition.

It employs synchronous freewheeling technology and supports both CAN digital throttle and PWM analog throttle control. This enables the system to automatically recover energy during motor deceleration and, combined with the new energy vehicle-level variable frequency drive algorithm architecture, results in a 5-10% increase in machine efficiency.

The ESC also features double-sided heat dissipation, a built-in high-precision motor temperature monitoring system, and deeply optimized software algorithms. These innovations enable intelligent temperature reduction, preventing damage or failure caused by overheating.

UF160 v2 uses a full isolation design between the control signal interface and main power supply, isolating ground from external interference to ensure greater safety and reliability. There are also multiple protection functions, such as startup and temperature protection, as well as short-circuit infinite restart.

The flight controller, using the CAN communication interface, can receive real-time data, including throttle, voltage, current, motor speed, and MOS temperature. This allows for precise control of ESC output and motor operating status.
