ResilienX Launches Innovative BVLOS Airspace Testing Environment with SAFE-T Project!

ResilienX will partner with the DronePort Network in the SAFE-T Project to create a BVLOS airspace environment for manufacturing, testing and validating automated drone operations

ResilienX is joining forces with the DronePort Network to establish a Beyond Visual Line of sight (BVLOS) airspace framework in Tulsa,Oklahoma.

This four-year partnership aims to create an urban BVLOS testing landscape, along with a robust infrastructure to trial and validate cutting-edge, highly automated drone operations.

The envisioned airspace environment will cater to a variety of applications, including emergency response, infrastructure assessments, and delivery services, while also generating essential data to facilitate regulatory progress.

ResilienX will spearhead the design, integration, and execution of vital infrastructure elements, such as a centralized data exchange, surveillance fusion capabilities, system monitoring tools, and the advancement of regulatory pathways.

this initiative is part of the Secure Autonomy Feedback and Evaluation Test bed (SAFE-T) project, which is funded by the U.S.Economic Development Administration (EDA) through the Tulsa Tech Hub.

The SAFE-T project is one of six initiatives supported by Tulsa’s tech Hub, which received a $51 million EDA tech Hub grant aimed at developing, testing, and manufacturing reliable autonomous systems in the Tulsa area.

To effectively realize the SAFE-T project vision, ResilienX has partnered with NUAIR (for Waiver and Regulatory Support), Sunhillo (for Surveillance Data Acquisition and fusion), Assured Information Security (for Cybersecurity monitoring), and VOTIX (for Command and Control Orchestration).

ResilienX brings extensive experience to this initiative, having successfully implemented BVLOS corridors across the nation, including notable collaborations with NUAIR,AeroX,NASA,and the U.S. Air Force. Additionally, their AAM OptiX® platform evolved from the foundational FRAIHMWORK® software, which monitors the health, integrity, and performance of systems involved in scaled Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) operations.

Craig Mahaney, CEO of DronePort Network, remarked, “After a thorough evaluation process, ResilienX showcased unparalleled technical proficiency and a proven history in developing intricate BVLOS ecosystems.”

“Their AAM OptiX platform offers distinctive capabilities through its centralized data exchange, surveillance fusion, and automated health monitoring systems, establishing a commercially viable airspace environment for autonomous systems in Tulsa. this collaboration is a significant milestone in positioning our region as a leading hub for reliable autonomous systems integration.”

Andrew Carter, CEO of ResilienX, added, “we are privileged to collaborate with DronePort Network on this transformative initiative. While drone testing sites are available nationwide, our focus is on creating commercially viable BVLOS ecosystems through our AAM OptiX platform. Our unique approach to digital infrastructure provides the essential technology that supports scalable BVLOS operations through real-time monitoring and safety assurance.”

“Without advanced automation and autonomy supported by a strong digital infrastructure, manny UAS applications are not commercially viable. Together with our exceptional partners, we aim to enable not only research and development but also profitable drone operations throughout the Tulsa region.”

Implementation is set to commence in May 2025, with initial system capabilities expected to be operational by early 2026. This groundbreaking project aspires to position Tulsa at the forefront of advanced autonomous aviation operations.
