Revolutionizing Military Training with Advanced Mesh Technology
Doodle Labs has supplied its cutting-edge mesh Rider Radios to MVP Robotics for the latest iteration of their humanoid Engageable Kinetic Training Robot (HEKTR) 3.4 Trackless mobile Infantry Target (TMIT).

The Mesh Rider Radios from Doodle Labs offer a robust, long-range mesh networking solution tailored for complex robotics and unmanned systems. Their integrated intelligence guarantees reliable,low-latency connections, even in difficult radio frequency (RF) conditions.
By incorporating Doodle Labs’ Mesh Rider Radio into the HEKTR’s onboard communication system, MVP Robotics has achieved superior connectivity for operations beyond the line of sight (BLOS), allowing for seamless integration with uncrewed vehicles to extend command and control (C2) channels indefinitely.
Moreover, the high-throughput datalink from doodle Labs works in tandem with HEKTR’s advanced high-definition cameras, facilitating supervised autonomy and maximizing operational windows while ensuring the safety of personnel and assets in the field.
Overview of HEKTR 3.4 TMIT
The HEKTR 3.4 Trackless Mobile Infantry target (TMIT) from MVP Robotics is a semi-autonomous, fully-armored, all-terrain target designed to mimic human movement during live-fire exercises.
This latest version of HEKTR boasts enhanced connectivity through Doodle Labs’ Mesh Rider Radios, alongside improved autonomy and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities compared to its predecessors.
With the ability to reach speeds over 20 mph, HEKTR can simulate the movements of a human adversary in both outdoor and indoor environments. It is equipped to detect gunfire and relay real-time training assessment data to a mobile submission, enabling trainees to receive immediate feedback and refine their tactical skills in a controlled setting.
Equipped with a stereo camera, HEKTR can identify obstacles and avoid collisions during both day and night operations. The onboard AI processes visual data to recognize obstacles and navigate through complex terrains. The high-throughput datalink from Doodle Labs supports supervised autonomy, enhancing operational efficiency.
Additionally, HEKTR’s stereo camera facilitates fly-by-wire teleoperation and integrates After-Action Review (AAR) capabilities, providing immediate access to recorded footage. The system’s network expansion allows for intelligent autonomous control of multiple HEKTR units in user-defined tactical formations from a single interface.
Transformative Impact on Military Training
MVP Robotics asserts that the HEKTR 3.4 package represents a significant advancement in downrange autonomy and reliable AI integration within autonomous robotic systems. This innovation enhances data availability for prompt after-action feedback, crucial for both continental U.S.(CONUS) and expeditionary training, as military personnel prepare for future combat scenarios.
Amol Parikh, Co-CEO of Doodle Labs, expressed enthusiasm about the ongoing collaboration, stating, “We are excited to continue our partnership with MVP Robotics, contributing to the safe and effective training of military personnel. Technologies like HEKTR are rapidly transforming military training methodologies, and our Mesh Rider Radios are specifically engineered to provide resilient connectivity for robotics and tactical teams in the most challenging environments. This partnership has the potential to be a game-changer.”
Quinn Connell, Co-founder and CEO of MVP Robotics, added, “The integration of Doodle Labs’ Mesh Rider Radios marks a new chapter in operational capabilities for our armored HEKTR platform. Low-latency, high-reliability connectivity is essential for effective downrange operations. Our collaboration with Doodle Labs guarantees dependable performance for HEKTR systems as we prepare our warfighters for the challenges of tomorrow.”
