United Electronic Industries (UEI) has introduced the DNx-MF-102, a versatile I/O board that integrates both analog adn digital functionalities, designed to work seamlessly with all of UEI’s I/O chassis systems.

This innovative board boasts an notable array of 34 analog and digital I/O channels, complemented by two CAN ports and a single RS-232/422/485 port. Its adaptability makes it particularly suitable for real-time data acquisition (DAQ), testing, control, and various critical applications in aerospace and defense that necessitate the integration of multiple signals.
The DNx-MF-102 is designed to handle a diverse spectrum of input and output signals. It features 16 channels with 8 software-selectable A/D ranges, covering from ±80 V to ±0.156 V, and offers an 18-bit resolution. The capability to measure up to ±80 V positions the DNx-MF-102 as an optimal choice for aerospace and power generation sectors, where many DAQ devices with a maximum input range of 10 V would require additional signal conditioning. Both “high voltage” and “low voltage” settings can be programmed on a per-channel basis.
Equipped with 16 bits of industrial voltage digital I/O, each bit can be independently set as either an input or output. These digital I/O bits operate within a wide voltage range of 3.3V to 55 VDC. The digital inputs come with programmable pull-up/down resistors, allowing them to monitor connections to either a power supply or ground. An A/D converter detects the inputs, enabling programmable high and low voltage thresholds and facilitating state change detection with a resolution of 5 μs. the digital outputs can be configured for current sourcing (switching between Vcc and the output), current sinking (switching between Gnd and the output), push-pull (connecting to Vcc or Gnd, but not both at once), or simply as a switch to Vcc or Gnd.
The board is equipped with three interaction ports. The first is an RS-232/422/485 port that can be configured for any baud rate ranging from 300 baud to 2 Mbaud, with a frequency accuracy of 0.01%. Additionally, it features two CAN 2.0 ports that support Standard, Fast, and Fast+ baud rates, along with ARINC-825 compatibility.
To enhance usability, the DNx-MF-102 is backed by a comprehensive software suite that supports Windows, Linux, and various popular real-time operating systems (RTOS). It also accommodates programming languages and DAQ applications such as LabVIEW and MATLAB. Furthermore, all UEI PowerDNA products come with a 10-year availability guarantee and a standard 3-year hardware warranty, which can be extended to 10 years to address obsolescence concerns.
