Revolutionary Fuel Measurement Sensors Chosen for Unmanned Helicopter in Maritime Surveillance!

Reventec's capacitive fuel level sensor allows the Alpha 900 to deliver up to 4 hours of continuous flight

Reventec has announced that its LS200 capacitive fuel level sensor has been chosen by Alpha Unmanned Systems to equip the Alpha 900 unmanned helicopter with advanced fuel volume measurement capabilities. The alpha 900 serves as a maritime security and surveillance platform, designed for rapid deployment and vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL), making it ideal for operations from moving vessels, complete with autonomous landing features for enhanced convenience.

Tailored for essential naval reconnaissance, maritime security, search and rescue missions, and environmental assessments, this compact military-grade UAV boasts exceptional operational flexibility. The LS200 sensor from Reventec facilitates extended and optimized flight durations through real-time fuel monitoring. With the integration of the LS200, the Alpha 900 can achieve up to four hours of uninterrupted flight, enabling surveillance teams to gather more thorough intelligence data.

The LS200 sensor’s lightweight and compact design ensures high accuracy without compromising the Alpha 900’s 4kg payload capacity. It provides analog outputs ranging from 0.25V when empty to 3.3V when full, seamlessly integrating into the UAV’s electrical system via the included flying lead. With an impressive accuracy of +/-0.5% of the reading, the sensor operates effectively across a wide temperature spectrum of -40°C to +125°C, under a differential tank pressure of 2bar.utilizing capacitive liquid level technology that meets Mil-Std EMC standards, this sensor is engineered for superior performance in challenging defense environments. To ensure unmatched accuracy, all Reventec sensors are calibrated using the customer’s preferred fuel type.

Neville Meech, Managing Director of Reventec, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are thrilled to provide our fuel level sensors to Alpha Unmanned Systems. There has been a noticeable rise in demand for our liquid level sensors as UAV manufacturers leverage our low-size, weight, and power (SWaP) solutions to monitor real-time fuel levels, enabling UAVs to operate longer distances.”

Álvaro escarpenter, Chief Technology Officer at Alpha, remarked: “Reventec’s sensors deliver dependable fuel status even in the rigorous conditions faced by UAVs. Their capacitive technology allows us to optimize flight duration, irrespective of the aircraft’s configuration, environmental conditions, or mission type.”
