Reventec Ltd, a prominent player in the realm of liquid level measurement sensor technology, has revealed that its LS200 capacitive fuel level sensor has been successfully integrated into the Martin UAV V-BAT tactical Unmanned aerial System (UAS) for enhanced real-time fuel monitoring capabilities.

The V-BAT has been identified by the U.S. Army as a potential successor to the Shadow tactical UAS as part of the FTUAS initiative. This system is powered by a 183cc 2-stroke EFI engine and operates on an 80:1 gasoline/oil mixture, boasting an notable maximum range of 350 miles.

Reventec’s LS200 sensor, designed with a lightweight aluminum body and a dual-hole mounting flange, accurately measures the full depth of the fuel tank with a precision of ±0.5%. This sensor delivers essential fuel level details to ground operators. it operates effectively within a temperature range of -40℃ to +150℃ and supports both analog and CAN communication protocols.

The effectiveness of Reventec’s fuel level measurement technology in UAS applications is well-established, with numerous fixed-wing, VTOL, and hybrid-VTOL platforms incorporating this technology in recent years. This technology is particularly advantageous for long-endurance missions, where dependable fuel level data enables operators to extend flight durations safely.

“We are thrilled to witness the growing integration of our products into UAS technologies,” stated Neville Meech, Managing Director at Reventec. “Having developed lightweight, high-precision fuel level sensors for elite motorsport for many years, the transition of this technology into UAS applications is a natural progression, given the shared demands for high data accuracy and reliability, alongside minimal impact on the UAS’s payload capacity.”

Reventec offers a variety of liquid level sensors, including standard, semi-custom, and fully customized options, with an extensive range of mechanical and electrical specifications to ensure compatibility with most UAS applications.
