UAVHE BADUGA

UAVHE has introduced BADUGA, an advanced gyro-stabilized aerial cannon equipped with an electro-mechanical bolt and feeding mechanism, featuring a locking and firing system referred to as the USM, or firing group.

Engineered for integration with drones and unmanned aerial vehicles, BADUGA incorporates a gyroscopic stabilizer that ensures the aiming line remains consistent, irrespective of the drone’s orientation. It effectively keeps the center of gravity stable, accommodating various barrel angles, aerodynamic forces, and magazine loads.

As reported by UAVHE, the precision of the servo drive allows for sub-MOA targeting accuracy, with a rapid slew rate exceeding 300 degrees per second. The implementation of wave reducers and backlash-free connections, combined with automatic self-calibration, guarantees remarkable consistency with each shot.

Many enhancements aimed at boosting shooting precision are executed via software, including pre-recoil compensation, wind profiling at various altitudes and distances, and utilizing atmospheric data from the flight computer to fine-tune the ballistic calculations. The cannon operates with standard 20 or 30-round magazines, and new magazines can be retrieved from a designated bracket on the drone. Standard frames are available for accommodating 4, 6, or 8 magazines, allowing for a total onboard capacity of up to 270 rounds.

An integration API is available for the target detection and decision-making systems. A digital signature protocol is in place to oversee each component of the suspension and firing group, with plans for a cascade of digital certificates linked to GNSS tags and locks to manage the system effectively.

UAVHE has indicated that the primary applications for this innovative product include drones utilized for invasive species control, military operations, and specialized missions.
