Revolutionary High-Performance MEMS Gyro: Elevating Inertial Sensing to New Heights!

Silicon Sensing Systems has introduced an innovative all-silicon MEMS single-axis gyroscope tailored for inertial sensing applications, offering a budget-friendly option to traditional fibre optic gyroscopes (FOG) and dynamically tuned gyroscopes (DTG).

This device is particularly well-suited for navigation, stabilization, and control in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and robotic systems.

The CRH03 model boasts enhanced performance and reduced noise levels, consuming 30% less power compared to its predecessor, the CRH02. It features advancements in MEMS technology and electronics, including upgraded drive electronics and enhancements to the sensor head. The gyro is available in five different rate ranges, with a new option of 10 degrees per second, demonstrating high resilience to external vibrations while providing outstanding bias instability and angle random walk characteristics.

Available in both packaged and OEM formats, the CRH03 allows users to integrate the OEM version into their own sensor systems, such as inertial measurement units (IMUs), in multiple configurations. Designers can select from three resonant frequencies, enabling them to create a trio of gyros with varying frequencies to meet specific motion sensing performance requirements.

Steve Capers, General Manager of Silicon Sensing Systems Ltd, stated, “The CRH03 is a high-precision gyro with notable potential across various industries, including aerospace, marine, rail, robotics, mining, and autonomous vehicles. It can serve multiple functions such as platform stabilization, surveying, guidance, and control, or as part of a extensive inertial measurement unit (IMU).”
