Revolutionary Hybrid UAV-UGV Integrates with Wave Relay MANET Radio Ecosystem!

Autonomous and unmanned vehicle technologies provider Robotic Research has joined the Wave Relay Ecosystem, an industry alliance of sensor

Pegasus II hybrid UAV-UGV

Robotic Research joins Forces with Wave Relay Ecosystem

Robotic Research, a leader in autonomous and unmanned vehicle technologies, has recently become a member of the Wave relay Ecosystem. This collaborative network consists of various companies specializing in sensors and unmanned systems, all leveraging Persistent Systems’ advanced mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) radio technologies. As part of this partnership, Robotic Research intends to integrate persistent’s technology into it’s innovative Pegasus II, a versatile hybrid robotic vehicle that combines the aerial capabilities of a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial system (UAS) with the functionalities of a tracked unmanned ground vehicle (UGV).

Enhancing Military Operations with Pegasus II

The pegasus series of autonomous systems was designed for the U.S. Army Combat capabilities Progress Command, aiming to support specialized missions where the unique combination of aerial and ground capabilities can substantially enhance the operational reach of military personnel. The Pegasus II has successfully showcased its capabilities during the Army’s recent Project Convergence test campaign, demonstrating its effectiveness in real-world scenarios.

Persistent Systems’ Commitment to Tactical Networking

Persistent Systems is set to deliver over 10,000 tactical radios and networking devices to the U.S. army across five established UGV Programs of Record. Additionally, the company serves as the primary provider of autonomous vehicle technology for the Expedient Leader-Follower initiative, which facilitates the platooning of unmanned, autonomous trucks. This innovation aims to minimize the risk to soldiers during various operational missions.

Insights from Industry Leaders

Jeffrey Washington,Director of Business Development at persistent Systems, emphasized the goal of the wave Relay Ecosystem: “Our mission is to create a cohesive battlefield network that integrates all sensors and unmanned systems, providing the warfighter with real-time situational awareness.”

Alberto Lacaze, co-founder and President of Robotic Research, expressed pride in contributing to the defense and intelligence sectors: “We are privileged to offer autonomous and unmanned solutions for a diverse range of national security clients. As a partner in the Wave Relay Ecosystem, we are committed to developing our systems as integral components of the evolving battlefield network.”
