Introducing the M9HCT-A-SMA: A Cutting-Edge GNSS Antenna

Maxtena multiband GNSS antennaMaxtena has unveiled the M9HCT-A-SMA, a state-of-the-art multi-frequency active helix GNSS antenna tailored for autonomous systems, including UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles). This robust and compact antenna is engineered to provide simultaneous GNSS reception across a variety of frequencies:

  • L1: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou
  • L2: GPS L2C
  • Galileo E5B
  • GLONASS L3OC
  • L5: GPS with L-band corrections

Innovative design and Performance

The M9HCT-A-SMA features an active helix design that incorporates Maxtena’s proprietary Helicore technology. This innovation ensures superior pattern control, polarization purity, and high efficiency, all while maintaining a lightweight and compact profile. The antenna operates independently of ground planes, boasts exceptionally low power consumption, and exhibits minimal phase center variation across azimuth, along with an outstanding axial ratio that effectively reduces multipath errors.

Versatile Integration Options

For those seeking versatility, the antenna is also offered in an embedded version. Maxtena provides comprehensive support for installation and integration, ensuring optimal performance. The antenna can be seamlessly embedded within various housings and fine-tuned to align with the specific materials, electronics, and spatial constraints of the installation.

Industry Insights and Future Trends

Vanja Maric, Chief Commercial Officer at Maxtena, stated: “The M9HCT-A-SMA represents a groundbreaking advancement in GNSS antenna technology. It encompasses all lower and upper GNSS bands, including L1, L2, and L5 across multiple constellations, while also integrating L-Band corrections.Notably, it is indeed the most compact solution available with such high performance. Its extraordinary axial ratio and ability to reject multipath interference enable it to function effectively in environments with important RF noise. We are observing a growing demand for enhanced accuracy across various sectors, from autonomous vehicles and robotics to commercial applications like robotic lawn mowers utilizing our antenna technology.”
