EIZO Rugged Solutions has unveiled its new Condor AGX-ORIN64-HPC SOSA-aligned 3U VPX single-board computer, designed for C5ISR applications requiring artificial intelligence at-the-edge (AIAE) processing

EIZO Rugged Solutions Inc., a leader in ruggedized graphics and video electronics, has unveiled a cutting-edge embedded computing module.

The newly launched Condor AGX-ORIN64-HPC is a 3U VPX single-board computer (SBC) that adheres to the Sensor Open System Architecture™ (SOSA) standards,utilizing the NVIDIA® Jetson AGX Orin™ system-on-module (SoM).

This compact yet powerful computing module is engineered for demanding Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) applications that necessitate artificial intelligence processing at the edge (AIAE).

Equipped with the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 64GB som, the module features an NVIDIA Ampere architecture GPU alongside a 12-core Arm® Cortex®-A78AE CPU. its 64GB of LPDDR5 system memory facilitates an impressive memory bandwidth of up to 205 GB/s, which is shared among the internal CPU, GPU, and accelerator engines.

the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin boasts 2048 CUDA® cores and 64 Tensor Cores, enhancing AI-accelerated performance. It also includes NVIDIA Deep Learning Accelerators, which are essential for executing complex machine learning (ML) tasks. These features guarantee efficient data processing within embedded systems, allowing for the smooth execution of AI algorithms and the simultaneous handling of multiple data streams without any performance degradation.

Additionally, the Condor AGX-ORIN64-HPC integrates the NVIDIA ConnectX®-7 NIC, which supports high-speed data transfers of up to 100Gb/s and 25Gb/s via Gigabit Ethernet. Coupled with NVIDIA GPUDirect® RDMA over converged Ethernet (RoCE), this enables rapid communication between distributed sensors, RF transceivers, and various platforms. The module also includes 64 GB eMMC internal storage, an M.2 2230 slot for expandable storage, and high-speed I/O options such as USB 3.2, DisplayPort™, and RS-232 Serial.

The NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin SoM is designed to support NVIDIA GPU hardware accelerator engines for multi-stream video decoding (NVDEC) and encoding (NVENC). It accommodates a range of codec profiles, including HEVC (H.265), AVC (H.264), VP9, and AV1. The open-standard AV1 codec is especially favorable, allowing for encoding at lower bitrates while maintaining visual quality, which is crucial in scenarios with restricted data link bandwidth.

The modular architecture of the Condor AGX-ORIN64-HPC complies with VITA 46/65 and the SOSA technical standards slot profile 14.2.16. It is indeed engineered to meet MIL-STD-810 standards for temperature, shock, vibration, and humidity resilience.
