Revolutionizing Farming: Precision Agriculture Solutions Integrate NovAtel GNSS Receiver

Hexagon | NovAtel has confirmed that its SMART7 GNSS receiver has been selected as the default configuration choice for Fendt precision

Innovative Partnership in Precision Agriculture

Hexagon | NovAtel has announced that its advanced SMART7 GNSS receiver will serve as the standard configuration for Fendt’s precision agriculture machinery, which utilizes the Fendt Guide guidance systems integrated with the Fuse Smart farming digital platform. The SMART7 is designed to meet the evolving demands of precision agriculture, offering extraordinary performance and dependability.

Robust Design for Challenging Conditions

the SMART7 features a high-performance GNSS receiver paired with a precision antenna, all housed in a rugged, all-in-one unit engineered to endure the vibrations, weather extremes, and temperature fluctuations typical of agricultural settings. By employing multi L-Band tracking,it connects to terrastar Correction Services worldwide, ensuring consistent centimetre-level accuracy across the globe. The receiver’s capability to access multi-frequency signals from GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS enhances satellite availability, even in arduous conditions. NovAtel’s hardware is designed with resilience against radio frequency interference, and the Interference Toolkit firmware suite offers detection and protection against both intentional and unintentional disruptions.

Enhanced Positioning Capabilities

Utilizing NovAtel’s GNSS+INS technology, the SMART7 can be equipped with an optional integrated Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that delivers continuous 3D positioning, velocity, and roll/pitch/azimuth data, facilitating deeper integration with vehicle guidance and steering systems. Additional features available for the SMART7 include Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity for remote monitoring and management.

Endorsements from Industry Leaders

Dr. Bernhard Schmitz,Director of FendtONE Market Readiness and Agronomy EME,remarked,“Our long-standing collaboration with NovAtel has been invaluable. Their adaptability and support make them our primary GNSS receiver supplier for the Fendt Guide guidance system. Their products are user-friendly and integrate flawlessly into our machinery.”

Commitment to Excellence in Agriculture

Eric Wuestefeld, Executive Vice President of Agriculture at Hexagon | NovAtel, stated, “We are committed to delivering top-tier, industry-leading positioning and autonomy solutions to OEMs and integrators in the agriculture sector. Our goal is to be the preferred partner for precision guidance solutions, empowering our customers to tackle their challenges and achieve their objectives effectively.”
