Introducing the M40: A Cutting-edge Autonomous Survey Vessel
The M40 is a versatile medium-sized autonomous survey vessel, expertly crafted for conducting bathymetric surveys in both coastal and oceanic environments. Featuring a modular catamaran structure and adaptable payload capabilities, the M40A is engineered to deliver remarkable survey performance using single or multi-beam sonar systems, along with various hydrographic and monitoring tools.
Constructed with a robust aluminum and carbon fiber hull, the M40 is powered by a high-capacity lithium polymer battery, ensuring efficient operation.
1. Versatile Modular Payload bay
The M40 USV boasts a payload capacity of up to 60 kg. Its dry payload bay can be easily swapped in the field to accommodate a range of sensors, including:
- Single-beam echo sounder
- multibeam echo sounder
- Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP)
- 3D LiDAR scanner
- Side-scan sonar
- Forward-looking sonar
- Water quality monitoring sonde
- Sub-bottom profiler
2. Automated Instrument handling
Equipped with a built-in automatic lifter, the M40 can raise and lower instruments based on whether it is indeed navigating or surveying, thereby protecting transducers and optimizing energy consumption.
3. streamlined Transportation and Maintenance
The modular design of both the component and mission systems facilitates easy transitions between various mission deployments and simplifies maintenance tasks for the USV.
4. Enhanced Data Quality with Reduced Noise
The innovative wave-piercing hull design of the M40 allows it to glide through waves, minimizing vibrations and noise during operation. This results in the collection of higher-quality data from the onboard instruments.
5. Exceptional Stability and navigation Precision
Thanks to its stable catamaran hull and low-vibration electric propulsion, the M40 ensures reliable navigation during surveys, providing excellent line tracking capabilities.
6. Powerful Electric Propulsion
Powered by lithium polymer batteries, the M40 can achieve speeds of up to 7 knots while carrying a full payload, making it efficient for various surveying tasks.
7. Autonomous Multi-Purpose Surveying
- The USV and its surveying instruments are managed from a base station. Utilizing GNSS positioning, the M40 can autonomously execute pre-programmed multi-purpose surveying missions and transmit data in real-time.
- for manual control, operators can remotely pilot the USV from a distance of up to 2 km using a remote controller.
8. Advanced Collision Avoidance System
- The collision avoidance system can detect obstacles up to 50 meters ahead, helping to prevent accidents.
- Operators can monitor the surrounding water surroundings through two onboard cameras.
