Revolutionizing Powerline Inspections with Advanced UAV Technology
HD Air Studio has introduced the Infinity MR-PRO, a cutting-edge 3-axis gimbal designed for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) capable of handling payloads up to 1.3 kg. this innovative technology has been adopted by Bergen Robotics for a state-of-the-art autonomous camera system that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to inspect powerlines.
Autonomous Imaging System
This groundbreaking imaging solution integrates fixed and movable sensors, along with robotics and AI algorithms, to autonomously gather high-resolution images of powerline components. The system is equipped with dual sensors: one camera dedicated to AI processing and another high-resolution camera that captures intricate details of specific elements.
Performance and Efficiency
The prototype of this autonomous payload system is operational, achieving notable image capture speeds of up to 10 meters per second. This efficiency is crucial for timely inspections and maintenance of powerline infrastructure.
“We are thrilled that Bergen robotics has chosen our gimbal as the foundation for their visual system,” stated Kuba Jakubczyk, CEO of HD Air Studio. “Our mission is to develop UAV gimbals that go beyond mere image stabilization, enabling users to interact with the gimbal’s onboard computer and autopilot for advanced automated functionalities.”

enhanced Data Collection
Nils Jacob Berland from Bergen Robotics emphasized the synergy between their AI-driven visual system and HD Air Studio’s gimbal technology.“Our system will not only provide high-quality images but also deliver precise positional and directional metadata. additionally, we can integrate any necessary facts into the planning software for internal use, such as object identification,” he explained.
This collaboration marks a meaningful advancement in the field of UAV technology, showcasing how innovative partnerships can lead to enhanced operational capabilities in critical infrastructure inspections.
