Gladiator Technologies has unveiled its innovative VELOX Processing technology, designed specifically for MEMS IMUs (inertial measurement units). This cutting-edge technology employs rapid sampling and complex signal processing methods, enabling data output rates of up to 10 kHz with remarkably low message timing. This advancement is especially beneficial for developers of systems like UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) and robotic platforms that demand superior inertial sensing capabilities with minimal phase delay.
With VELOX-enabled IMUs, system architects can transition from outdated analog inertial systems and rate sensors to modern, high-speed digital alternatives.gladiator Technologies has integrated VELOX Processing into its entire SX Series of digital IMUs, gyroscopes, and INS/GPS products, offering various high-speed output options tailored to diffrent models. To facilitate synchronization, these SX Series units are equipped with dedicated external sync connector pins and firmware that allows users to select the output speed and baud rate that best fits their specific applications.
The VELOX Processing technology also boasts several advanced features, including:
- Message timing as low as 185 microseconds
- Data rates of up to 6 Mbaud
- Bandwidth capabilities reaching up to 350 Hz
Eric yates, the Buisness Development Manager at Gladiator Technologies, remarked, “VELOX Processing embodies our distinctive high-speed, low-latency technology, providing significant advantages for system designers, particularly those concentrating on stabilization.”
Lee Dunbar, the Chief Software architect at Gladiator Technologies, added, “The growing demand from customers for high-speed output and near-analog responsiveness prompted us to explore unconventional processing techniques. The outcome of this initiative is VELOX Processing, tailored for applications that require real-time, high-resolution inertial data.”
