RIEGL Enhances UAV Fleet with New Multicopter platforms

RIEGL has recently augmented its unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) development fleet by incorporating additional multicopter platforms.

new Additions to the Fleet

Since June 2023, the company has integrated two multicopters from the Dutch manufacturer Acecore Technologies, specifically the NOA and ZOE (X8), into its UAV operations based in Horn, Austria.

Meeting Growing Demands

As the number of test and calibration flights for both production and development at RIEGL’s European headquarters continues to rise, the need for more UAV platforms became evident. The newly acquired multicopters enhance the existing fleet, allowing for more comprehensive testing capabilities.

Demonstrating Capabilities

Beyond testing, these multicopters are also being employed for customer demonstrations across Europe. This enables RIEGL to showcase the complete system, including the UAV platform and RIEGL payload, in real-time, effectively highlighting the benefits of this integrated solution.

Seamless Integration Solutions

To facilitate optimal performance between the LiDAR sensor and the certified UAV platforms, RIEGL provides specialized integration kits. These kits include a shock-absorbing mounting system, a power supply module, a GNSS antenna, its mount, and all necessary cabling, ensuring a straightforward integration of the RIEGL sensor system, which features an integrated IMU/GNSS unit and optional cameras on the multicopter.

These integration kits are available for the entire range of RIEGL UAV sensors, from the entry-level RIEGL miniVUX-1UAV to the advanced RIEGL VQ-840-GL topo-bathymetric laser scanner.
