Rise in Demand for Amprius High-Energy Silicon Anode Batteries Sees New Lines Opening

Amprius Technology has opened their contract manufacturing partner’s new lines in an effort to meet rising demand for high-energy silicon anode batteries.

New production lines provide Amprius with a manufacturing capacity of up to 800 MWh for its SiCore pouch cells.

An expansion of this size marks a significant milestone in the company’s global manufacturing strategy, significantly enhancing its production capabilities to meet the rising demand for its high-performance silicon anode batteries.

The aforementioned production lines have officially begun operations at one of Amprius’ contract manufacturing partners’ facilities, specifically designed to produce Amprius’ SiCore batteries. This expansion increases customers’ access to Amprius’ high-energy, high-power silicon anode batteries for electric mobility applications.

The facility incorporates the latest advancements in battery manufacturing equipment and processes, utilizing state-of-the-art technology alongside sophisticated environmental controls to ensure optimal performance and quality for Amprius’ silicon anode cell chemistries. Shipments from these production lines commenced in October 2024, fulfilling various customer orders, including the $20 million order for Light Electric Vehicles announced by the company in September.
