SBG Systems Releases New Firmware Upgrade for Ellipse Inertial Systems

SBG Systems has introduced a free firmware upgrade for the Ellipse product line, enhancing precision, reliability, and GNSS-denied capabilities for existing hardware

SBG Systems has unveiled the New Ellipse, the latest upgrade for the Ellipse product line of MEMS-based inertial systems. 

Whether using an attitude and heading reference system (AHRS) or inertial navigation system (INS) version, the simple and free firmware upgrade extends the capabilities of existing hardware without requiring any physical changes. The firmware upgrade transforms hardware into more accurate, reliable, and versatile solutions for the most demanding applications. 

Precision & Reliability
The New Ellipse delivers high precision and reliability. Powered by the latest generation sensor fusion algorithm, it enhances navigation, attitude, and heave performance, ensuring stable and accurate positioning even in high-dynamics environments and challenging conditions.

GNSS-Denied Capabilities
The New Ellipse introduces advanced GNSS-denied capabilities. It features newly integrated flags that trigger when GNSS jamming or spoofing threats are detected, allowing users to reject or re-enable external sensors—such as GNSS—without needing to reset the filter.

This gives operators enhanced visibility and control over how systems respond to these events, allowing for more precise adjustments in challenging environments.

Simplified System Integration
Designed with the user in mind, the New Ellipse offers several new features that simplify system integration. It now supports seamless configuration and interfacing via a robust RESTful API, allowing developers and integrators to easily unlock the full potential of the device. 

The user-friendly interface allows for fast and flexible configuration using simple command lines, enabling users to tailor the Ellipse to specific needs and applications quickly and efficiently.

The firmware upgrade is now available at no additional cost to all users of compatible hardware (v3.x). To take advantage of these updates, customers can follow the upgrade instructions available on the SBG Systems website.
