Schiebel secures Major R&D Contract for enhanced Maritime Operations
Schiebel has recently secured a significant research adn advancement contract valued in the millions of Euros, aimed at advancing the maritime functionalities of its CAMCOPTER S-100 unmanned Aerial System (UAS).
Innovative Developments in Maritime Surveillance
This contract, known as the iSAR Research & Development initiative, was awarded by the Spanish Maritime Safety and Rescue Society (SASEMAR). It focuses on the enhancement and delivery of the S-100 UAS, which will incorporate cutting-edge sensors designed for the detection and identification of individuals in distress, drifting debris, and pollutants in open waters, both during the day and at night. Additionally, the system will monitor hazardous atmospheres, ship emissions, and surface water contamination.
Complete Data Integration System
The project also encompasses a complex data collection and distribution framework that integrates facts from the S-100 sensors, along with data from manned AW139 and CN235 helicopters, and two maritime vessels.
Advanced Payload Capabilities
The S-100 will be equipped with a range of advanced payloads, including the Overwatch Imaging PT-8DN Oceanwatch, Trakka TC-300 EO/IR sensor, Aeromon BH-12 Emission Measuring Device, and SENSIA Gas Imaging devices. This versatile payload suite enables the S-100 to execute multiple missions concurrently without the need for sensor changes.
Commitment to Technological Excellence
