Sense Aeronautics is an innovative developer of AI-powered video analytics solutions for UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles), backed by Spanish R&D firm and leading computing specialist Gradiant. Our disruptive technology is designed to elevate the autonomy capabilities of commercial drones to levels that were previously thought to be impossible, providing true scalability, enhanced profitability and provable results.
Our solutions are focused on the automated real-time analysis of drone video feeds, and are customizable to the unique requirements of each client. The cutting-edge software is ideal for drone OEMs and fleet operators as well as developers of drone management platforms, and can be deployed on edge devices, ground control stations, or cloud servers.
Our unique approach
Our drone video analytics solutions are based on a unique combination of factors that provide a number of advantages for industry professionals looking to improve and scale up their operations:
Advanced AI and relevant datasets – our AI models are trained with high-quality data that is specific to drone video feeds, and accounts for unique challenges such as vibration, moving cameras, and dynamic backgrounds and lighting conditions.
Drone-specific technology – the implementation of our technologies utilizes low-latency communications and industry-standard protocols, and has been rigorously tested in a variety of operational scenarios, including edge, cloud and local deployments.
Automatic performance evaluation – based on tangible and operational KPIs for every model in all required scenarios and target outcomes, this enables fine-tuning for optimal performance.
With three possible deployments: Edge, Local and Cloud, we strike a balance of performance and flexibility that is a game-changer for small and medium drones.
Automatic Target Recognition
AI-powered real-time object detection and classification
Our Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) solution automatically detects and classifies targets of interest in EO and IR video streams, delivering results that are faster, more cost-effective and less error-prone than human operators. The system is highly scalable and can handle any number of video streams, making it ideal for drone fleets and swarm applications.
The latest ATR solution enables the retrieval of telemetry data from drones enhancing AI performance and enabling the provision of geolocation data for detected targets, making it possible to display targets on a map.
ATR is available for deployment on the edge, as well as on local, public, and private Cloud-based environments.

Foreign Object Debris Detection
Aerial FOD detection for roads and runways
The Sense Aeronautics FOD Detection solution equips COTS drones with the ability to perform automatic detection and classification of unexpected objects and debris, as well as change detection on roads and runways. The system utilizes calibration flights prior to deployment to ensure optimal performance, as well as automatic recalibration after each flight to keep up to date.
All detections are geo-localized for easy review and confirmation, and false alarms are automatically filtered. The AI-powered software can be deployed on board the drone, on the ground control station, or on either a private or public cloud server.

Detect-and-Avoid
Collision avoidance solution detecting non-collaborative aircraft
Our detect-and-avoid (DAA) solution uses onboard EO and IR cameras to automatically detect non-collaborative aircraft in the vicinity of the drone, providing real-time alerts that can be used to facilitate collision avoidance. The system provides a range of logging options, including basic telemetry and health, alarms and tracking information, and visual data. Typical detection ranges are 500 metres for a Matrice 600 drone and over 3km for a Cessna Skylane aircraft. In addition, the software can also process footage from a ground-based camera to monitor the airspace and transmit detections via radio.
